Its a bad spot cause really you can't say much about it, it was a bad trade for you right? But then you see that same person making 20% of the trades in the offseason with an all pro team and 10 first round picks and for me, it's easy to see how people might go a little vigilante..
Everyone does understand that my out of my
8 1st round picks, 6 of them was from pick 19 and later right? Sure, it doesn't make any difference because a 1st rounder is a 1st rounder. The main point I'm making is that 5 of those were acquired from owners that did well throughout the season, which in turn hopefully means they know what they're doing. Those picks were
1.19(New York Giants at 8-8 owned by Mitch4742),
1.24(Green Bay Packers at 11-5 owned by GrandadB),
1.25(San Diego Chargers at 10-6 owned by jgcruz),
1.27(Seattle Seahawks at 13-3 owned by, at the time, awest827), and
1.31(Buffalo Bills at 13-3 owned by $B$Dog$). All those picks came from what I consider to be just some of the outstanding owners in this league. I find it hard to believe that they would all make deals with me in which they would "realize later how much value they lost".
Even with the early draft picks, 1.1 and 1.2, I didn't target their teams last year to acquire these picks. I acquired those picks back in the 1980 season, no way in knowing those franchises would've ended up with the top picks in the draft. I'm also absolutely sure if you cared enough, you could go to the Paydirt Football League website to find out that I've traded multiple times with multiple teams throughout the past 13 seasons.
Like I said in greyghosts' Game Guide for trading over in Paydirt B, my philosophy is to always seek value in trades, including coming out on top in the trades. That doesn't mean I don't want the other team to be able to profit from the trade either and most importantly I would never intentionally make a trade knowing that it'd destroy the infrastructure of the team's current or future condition.
You complained about the 7 trade offers I sent you. 5 of them were sent in error, of which I withdrew each one. The other 2 involved CB Rayford Ho. Looking at your team I felt that you were close to .500 and I felt that a CB, as old as he is, of his caliber, could push you into contention for your division. I also sent offers to field him to other teams, such as Dallas, Cincinnati, Denver, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, and San Diego. Common denominator? They're all, in my opinion, in win-now mode. Sure I'm throwing out 200 offers, but I try to offer players that could help improve their franchise. Don't like the price? There's always the reject and counter option. Don't like it at all? There's the reject button. Don't care to trade? Just tell me that and you won't receive another offer from me. Duval told me he didn't care to trade, so I let him be. It's really as easy as that.
Your last comment definitely has me curious though,
"naturally we don't want others we know to over pay the mechanic, so we warn them. Right?"Does that mean some owners are warning other owners not to trade with me? Interesting.
Anyways, in the words of someone, I greatly respect, "It's a game."
