The Paydirt Report: Week 11Week 11 was a week of the blow outs. Only one game was good enough to be called of the Game of the Week. Cincinnati's late game heroics to capture the win against Indianapolis.
In other league news, Houston Texans RB/WR is the leagues first to hit the 1,000 yd mark while the Detroit Lions WR/RB becomes the leagues first to record 100 receptions this season. Arizona has not scored a single point in 5 straight games or 20 quarters if your counting. It is prolly a league record if we kept such a stat.........we don't. They also have only scored 10 points in their last 7 games.
Warthog has opened up a lead in the GM career wins list with 138. jgcruz trails by 3 at 135 after slow start. awest827 is hunting them both down at 132 and counting. blackflys has slipped to 4th with 124 and Jouameng rounds out the top 5 with 123 wins. Now lets get to the rest of the Paydirt.
AFCWest
Kansas City(11-0) has clinched a playoff spot. Denver(7-4) has won 4 straight to keep the Chiefs from claiming that division crown.......for now. San Diego(5-5-1) is making a late season charge <-----(see what I did there?) toward the Wild Card race. Oakland(3-8) has come to the Wild Wild West with a toy gun and a wooden rocking horse this season. They will not be invited to the 1980 OK Corral's shootout.
East
Miami(9-2) after opening the season with 9 straight wins has stumbled (if fish can even do that) losing their last two straight. That has allowed the NY Jets(7-4) to close to within 2 games of the division lead. Buffalo(6-5) seems to have found a cure from their early season woes as they have rattled off 4 wins in a row. New England(3-8) is not in the hunt and will be receiving their honorary "e" in the mail sometime soon.
North
Cleveland(9-2) lost a showdown to Green Bay but still maintains a comfortable 5 game lead in the North. Baltimore(4-7) and Cincinnati(4-7) have their own race going on inside the North. It isn't for a playoff spot but it is for bragging rights. The next best thing. Pittsburgh(3-8) has fallin off a cliff after starting 2-0.
South
Houston's(7-3-1) big win over Miami helps them open up a 2.5 game lead over Indianapolis(5-6) who has dropped 2 straight. Jacksonville(3-8) and Tennessee(1-10) are at the bottom looking up with the Titans receiving their "e" via a certified letter. And yes, they did sign for it.
NFCEast
Dallas(7-4) is hearing footsteps after dropping their 2nd in a row. But thankfully for the Cowboys, the NY Giants(6-5) had their 6 game win steak come to an end against a surging Atlanta team on Monday Night. Philly(3-8) and Washington(1-10) are both down and out. The Redskins are officially out.
West
Seattle(11-0) remains the other only unbeaten team and have clinched their 8th NFC West title. Congrats to the Seahawks. San Francisco(3-8), Arizona(2-9) and Los Angeles(1-10) have all gotten their e's.
North
Green Bay(9-2) is trying to seal the deal in the North but Detroit(7-5) is hanging on for dear life. They want that North banner bad. But they also have a Wild Card race going on that's pretty hot and heavy with Carolina, New Orleans and NY Giants. Chicago(4-7) defeated Minnesota(4-7) in the battle of the cellar dwellers.
South
Tampa Bay's(11-1) big win over division rival Carolina(8-3) opens up some breathing room for the Bucs. They can't get too comfy as New Orleans(8-3) also sits right there 2 games back. And one of the big story lines is the Atlanta Falcons(4-7) and their rookie GM marinarul10. If the Falcons trend continues, this division next season will be even more lights out than it is already. Atlanta has won 4 straight.
Games to Watch: Week 12Green Bay @ Atlanta
Cleveland @ Houston
Carolina @ New Orleans
San Diego @ Buffalo
Miami @ NY Jets -
Monday Night Football Note:
Sorry guys about the Player of the Week. But when I try to pull up the Players of the Week on here it just spins most of the time. When I can catch it when it doesn't, I'll get it updated.
