The Paydirt Report: Week 12As we head into the 4th quarter of the season, the playoff picture is starting to develop. Three teams in the AFC and 1 in the NFC have clinched playoff spots already. 5 AFC teams and 7 NFC teams have received their "e" and look to spoil and to start their plans for next year. Kansas City and Seattle are the two last remaining undefeated teams, while everybody has at least 1 victory in their pocket.
Another hot topic in Paydirt each year is who is on the Hot Seat. 5 GM's are on the Hot Seat with amalric7 who needs to win 7 games this season. He has 5 wins with 4 to play. DJSim22 who needs to make the playoffs. He is currently in the Wild Card hunt only 1 game back of the last spot. john97334 who needs to play .500 ball this season. He is 3-9 on has just resigned from the Eagles organization. CrimsonWolfz and jmvda need to make the playoffs. CrimsonWolfz has his e and jmvda is on the verge. Now lets look at what happened in week 12.
AFCWest
Kansas City(12-0) looks like they have tamed the Wild Wild West in 1980. Denver(8-4) has won their 5th straight and is in a good Wild Card position. They've fallen off down the stretch in recent years. Lets see if they can close the deal. San Diego(5-6-1) late season run came to a halt as they broke their 3 game win streak. Their playoff hopes are bleak and they may miss the playoffs for only the 2nd time in franchise history. Oakland(3-9) recieved their e and has already headed for the saloon.
East
Miami(10-2) has rebounded from their 2 game losing streak with a big win over the NY Jets(7-5) to come within a game of closing out their 5th division championship and their 6 out of the last 7 years. Buffalo(7-5) quietly wins their 5th straight in their late season surge to the playoffs. They're tied with NY Jets for the last Wild Card spot. New England(3-9) is looking for a positive to close out the year. They could eliminate San Diego this week.
North
Cleveland(10-2) has clinched their 8th division title. Baltimore(5-7) has won 3 in a row and Cincinnati(5-7) has won 2 straight to stay alive. Pittsburgh(3-9) is home sitting in the corner hugging their e.
South
Houston(7-4-1) is hanging onto a very slim division lead over the pesky Indianapolis Colts(6-6). And guess what? they face off this week in a huge game for both teams. Jacksonville(3-9) is spending way too much time on the beach and not on the football field, while Tennessee(1-11) is singing the blues.
NFCEast
Dallas(8-4) and the NY Giants(7-5) have a battle going on in the East. They will faceoff in week 15. Philadelphia(3-9) and GM john97334 has parted ways and are looking for a new GM. Washington(1-11) has never left JFK airport all year. The plane they were supposed to board at the beginning of the year is still delayed.
West
Seattle(12-0) continues to riffle through their opponents. Their remaining schedule is no cake walk as they face the AFC powerhouse of Miami this week and in weeks 15 and 16 face two teams that might be in a do or die situation for making the playoffs in Detroit and Buffalo. San Francisco(3-9) has went down in 5 straight while Arizona(2-10) is the talk of the PFL. the have not scored a point in 6 straight games or 24 quarters if your counting. With their remaining schedule being on the weak side points might be on their way. Fingers crossed. Los Angeles(2-10) won their first game for GM setherick as he is planning for the rebuild coming up in the off-season.
North
Green Bay(10-2) stretches their lead in the North with another win and a Detroit(7-5) loss. The Lions are now fighting for their playoff lives in these last 4 games. They are currently tied with the Giants 1 games back off New Orleans for that final dance ticket. Minnesota(5-7) welcomes GM jmvda back from vacation with a win to postpone that e for another week. Chicago(4-8) already received theirs.
South
Tampa Bay(11-1) has took charge of the tough South division by winning 5 in a row after a tough loss to Seattle 28-24 back in week 7. Carolina(9-3) controls their playoff destiny as they hold the first Wild Card spot. New Orleans(8-4) holds the second one and wait to play Carolina again in week 15. That should be a good one. Atlanta's(4-8) cinderella streak came to an end as they battled the NFC North's top team til the end of that game. Falcon GM marinarul10 continues to impress the league.
