A result that is unsurprising to me, what i am surprised about is that you didnt put up a hundo lol

Good luck rest of the way :D

I'm surprised by the score, but to be honest, I wouldn't want to play my defense right now either. Even with the defensive play calling glitch, they are doing crazy things.

Not surprising, KC is the LC for starters, and as far as the defense goes, DE Denniston leads the league in sacks, CB1 Haynes is only giving up 31% (86 DF & 93 speed), CB2 Rounds (96 speed) is giving up 32.6%, basically its a good example of the combo of good pass rush and fast secondary, especially at the corners, they go hand in hand.

I think your analysis is pretty lacking on how to build a defense.

SP isn't everything in the secondary. Rounds got the #2 nod because he has the highest potential out of my other CBs, but he's not outplaying Gowan when Gowan was number 2: https://paydirt.myfootballnow.com/player/3083

Gowan is the same SP this year as he was last year. He is also a hugely valuable rotational DB.

You analysis also doesn't take into account my OLBs, which are more valuable than my DBs since I stay in normal backfield sets for most of a game. Their catch percentages look off because they are often covering a RB out of the backfield, which means they are in contain rather than in punish mode, which leads to a higher catch percentage. Just as how DBs get inflated statistics because throwaways count as ***** thrown at them that a WR didn't catch.

I haven't had a unit play as well as a unit. And this is with the defensive playcalling bug wrecking my game plans most games.

Try it with 75 speed corners and 50 speed DEs, and then tell me speed doesnt matter.

This team is 10-5-1 with at least two losses being on me for not game planning properly, and it's pretty close to what you describe. The CBs are are a little faster, but not much and their skill is pretty awful. My LDE and swing DE are both 50 SP and still do well. My RDE is a converted LB who I would have left at MLB if this were 0.4.3: https://agent86.myfootballnow.com/team/6

Short story is you can get it done in 0.4.2 with non-ideal players, and player attributes are going to be much more important than just speed in 0.4.3, especially with CBs.

The only reason that fast CBs do well in 0.4.2 is that all CBs open the gate on long cover downs in M2M. In 0.4.3, they'll actually use their cover skills on those downs, and B&R works a lot better. Which means the days of the 95 SP WR All Go Route offenses are finally coming to an end.

KC is a great team, seth, no doubt about it, and to me, on defense, its about the combination of pass rush - sacks/pressure and the speed/M2M/punish mix on the DBs. Dont get me wrong, I agree about the rest of the defense and LBs being important, but the priority for me is to have those fast corners with good or better cover skills and DL/LBs that can put pressure on the opposing QB. Totally agree about the Go routes by 90+ speed receivers being a problem in the current game version, but it should be a problem when you have a significant mismatch in speed btw a WR & DB. That was a primary reason for me to upgrade the corners speed on the Pack. In addition, look at the difference in the Pack defense since the addition of DE Stewart, who is in the same speed/str/pass rush class as Deniston. The increase in pass rush pressure was a strong factor in CB1 Bedoya, whom you traded to me (thanks!), having a big game and making the Players of the Week list.

Tough game Lions/Duval, more fumbles than usual, has not been easy catchin up after startin the season 0-3, WLB Shelby played lights out in that one, see you again at the last game of reg season.

It almost seemed like the Cardinals did not want the first win of the season, or was it a severe case of nerves?

4 fumbles (3 lost) and an interception in the 4th quarter was not enough to turn the game in favour of the Vikings, as the Cardinals defense responded in fine fashion with 3 interceptions in the final quarter to give the team their first win of the season.

Good game NOS. I will have to talk to Chow about not turning the ball over 7 times next time we play.
