That was a shocker Bears/Crim, seems to be more game outcome variance in 4.5, as far as scores/stats between division teams 1st & 2nd games.

good game Dallas 0-4 beats 4-0. I can't believe an offense as good as mine can't put up more that 3 points. It doesn't help when my QB has a major injury on the first drive and then tries to come back in. My automatic kicker who misses 2 a season missed 2 FGs in this game and my star WR fumbles at the 3 yard line where a score would have tied the game and at least sent it to OT.

Turnovers get us a big win against an aging Cincy team.

The Paydirt Report: Week 5

Lots of stories being made in week 5. raymattis21's return with a victory in Buffalo against the defending Super Bowl champions Miami. Cleveland, Seattle and Tampa Bay all going down. that leaves only Oakland and Green Bay left that are undefeated. And the Game of the Week between division foes Jacksonville Jaguars and the Indianapolis Colts. The Jags come out on top in the thriller 26-23 on a late 38 yd FG by Rodriguez just :37 seconds after Indy tied it up on a 29 yd FG of their own by Duncan. Now for the rest of the Paydirt action in week 5.

AFC
West
Oakland(5-0) takes down the undefeated Browns to stay a game up on the pressuring San Diego Chargers(4-1). The Chargers rolled again and are looking good going into their big game against the Raiders this weekend. Denver(2-3) loses for the second consecutive week while Kansas City(2-3) gets back on the winning side of things.

East
Buffalo(4-1) holds a one game lead over Miami(3-2) after their big divisional matchup. Both New England(1-4) and the Jets(1-4) lose heartbreakers to fall 3 games back of the leading Bills.

North
Cleveland(4-1) maintains their lead in the North but Pittsburgh(3-2) on their 3 game win streak has closed the gap. Baltimore(2-3) and Cincinnati(2-3) both win to get a game closer to those Browns.

South
The Race is on in the South. Jacksonville(4-1) wins a thriller over the Colts(2-3) who are playing much better ball than their record shows. And the surprising Houston Texans(4-1) wins again as Jacksonville and Houston are tied for the lead in the division. Tennessee(0-5) are singing the blues with a lil Nashville flare to it.

NFC
East
The New York football Giants(4-1) are in first? Still? What the fa-heck. The Giants beat Philadelphia(1-4) while Washington(3-2) loses to the Geezers in Cincinnati to drop a game back. Dallas(1-4) wins their first game of the year with a victory over the previously unbeaten Seattle Seahawks.

West
Speaking of those Seahawks(4-1), they still hold a two game lead over both the Cardinals(2-3) and the Rams(2-3) in the division. The 49ers drop to (0-5) with their 9th consecutive loss going back to week 8 of 1977. Their only win in the last 2 seasons so far was against the Giants. They are 1-23 in their last 24 regular season games.

North
Green Bay(5-0) keeps winning while the rest of the division keeps losing. Along with the New York Jets, the Chicago Bears(1-4) have got to be one of the hard luck teams in 1978 so far. The NFC North could look a lot differently if a couple plays here and there went their way. Minnesota(2-3) looks close to competing for a playoff spot. Maybe just a couple of pieces away. Detroit(1-4) has been the polar opposite of the Bills and Giants with their rough start to the season.

South
Tampa Bay(4-1) finnaly goes down and prolly shouldn't look behind them because Atlanta(3-2) who has won 3 straight since finding a kicker and Carolina(3-2) who we all know is very dangerous when they start to get on a roll, are brething down the Bucs necks in the South. New Orleans(1-4) has been competitive thus far, but will it be enough to save Mcarovil's job in the big easy?

Games to watch in Week 6:
Pittsburgh @ Cleveland
Baltimore @ Cincinnati
Oakland @ San Diego - Battle Royale
Seattle @ Arizona
Carolina @ Los Angeles
Jacksonville @ Miami
Houston @ Indianapolis
Buffalo @ Tampa Bay - Battle Royale

GG Lions/Duval, Two of last seasons stingiest defenses (Lions-9.5 pg & Chiefs 11 pg) have been clowned on so far this season. Giving up almost twenty per game! OUCH! I thought both defenses played pretty well not one gave up more than 250 or so net yards, we were pretty even on rush yards, pass yards, int's and no fumbles to pin it on. We did win time of possession by 7 mins.....that helped. Along with the 4 turnovers on downs. (been there). We got lucky with 5 short field opportunities and converted on 3. I was nervous all 4th Q as it seemed you were gonna make a run at us. We both seem to be struggling on Offense as well. Lets hope we have our break out games real soon..LOL Good luck the rest of the way sir MM

On a side note Did anyone else notice the sim took unusually long to run last night? I checked in 20 mins or so before it ran. (sim runs 2:56 am local Denver time) a little more than an hour later I checked in and it was still running? Most times I can see results in 30-40 mins. or less. I gave up and went to bed. My email notice came at 8:37 am. I don't remember a sim running 5.5 hrs or maybe I just never noticed. At any rate lets hope they were fixing some of the bugs in the system.

I'm still kinda banging my head. I am in two leagues that went to 4.5 before this one. I made it to the LC with a 15-1 reg season record (Lost). The other is a second season rebuild that is currently is in the wild card round (haven't watched it yet). The team is doing well and my game plans seem to work. Frankly, those teams don't have the talent the Chiefs do. I will say that in those leagues we have a lot of empty teams and the quality of the completion is not what it is in this league. I just hope this isn't gonna be another 6-10 "learning experience" I HATE when that happens. LOL ....MM

Next week: Hopes will be high & Nerves will be at a fever pitch for MM. As his Chiefs go up against his mentor Gdadb. This may mean little to all of you but I have never beaten him but there is always hope. This is "MY" GOTW. Good luck my friend as long as you don't beat me by more than 40..I'll understand...;p. MM
