Love a lil controversy. :)

Not purposely done and I let the others chime in before I post what I was looking at. There is a method to my madness i promise.

FS Mount over FS Howard? SS Kistler over SS Hughes? I get that they don't have as many tackles... but still... Panthers aren't really happy about this All-Pro team!

Yep and the only player I had RB Blankenship(2100 total yards) didn't make it. WTH, just kidding I don't expect much love in Jacksonville.

Happy for the love thrown Jacksonville's way for Stroble and Mason, thought DE Johnson would make it before both, but happy with the effort. Nice job beercloud and I will see you tonight in NCAA. :)

Not complaining but how did Ingraham beat out the other 5 WR that had either more rec/yds/tds? Thank you for doing this all pro team. Just curious on the rationale for him.

K here is what I was looking at on the All-Pro and/or All-Rookie teams right or wrong. Either way it makes for good TV. :)

FS Howard vs Mount
Both had 6 Int's. Howard had 6 more kck, and Mount gave up 3 more receptions. Tackles was the deciding factor in that one. 30 more tackles is around 4 games or more worth. That's 25% of the entire season. I thought it was way too much of a difference.

SS Hughes vs Kistler
Kistler 6 Int - Hughes 5, Kistler 17 kck - Hughes 12, Kistler allowed way more receptions with 57 vs Hughes' 24, and Kistler had way more Tk with 94 vs Hughes 65.

WR Ingraham vs the world
Only 1 WR had more receptions than Ingraham and that was Cincinnati"s Cosentino. But he had less yds and TD's than Ingraham. The other WR that was in the running with Ingraham was Seattle's Jackson and it was a tough decision. Both had close to equal yds, Jackson had 5 more TD's and Ingraham had 18 more receptions.

That's my story and Im sticking to it.

In my opinion their tackles may have been bloated by the amount of times they were thrown at/how many receptions that they allowed. Hughes only allowed a minuscule 29.6 completion percentage where as Kistler allowed more than half settling in at 54.8. The same with Howard vs. Mount... Howard allowed only 32.1 completion percentage vs. Mount’s 42.6 percentage. Howard even had more pass attempts thrown his way! Yes, the tackles lean towards the other players but when you have a stout defense combined with a ball control offense, your players don’t end up with many tackles.

I see your points and they are valid. There are a number of different ways these players can be getting their stats. Without breaking down game film we only have stats to try and gauge what is going on.

But in Mount vs Howard, if you subtract the receptions given up from their tackles, Hughes would have 20 tackles and Mount would have 50. Being involved in just over 1 play per game on plays he didn't give up a pass isn't very good for a safety. Mount looked like a better ball hawk than Hughes. Being around the ball more could also account for him giving up more passes by having to cover up for the CB on more occasions. But I obviously cant tell that without watching a lot of game film on each of em. To me tackles show more about what a Safety is doing on the field than they do for a CB for instance. Howard's Alld% is very good indeed. Coverage for a CB is very important but only part of the story for a safety.
