Always in favor of removing that broken *** trade meter.

If we are going to keep the competition committee, what is everyone's thoughts on removing the minimum trade score.

As a team that has been trying to rebuild, I have tried to accumulate draft picks for my veterans. However, I often cant make a deal happen because the veteran I am trying to trade has a trade score that is too high to trade for a 7th rounder (or even a 6th) and no one will give up a higher pick for the player. But when I release the player, they are signed very quickly.

All of the trades could still be reviewed, but it would allow teams trying to move veterans cheap to do so and still get some value.

What the point of this? If you think I’ve acquired players with 90 speed to blocks punts then I’m offended. I don’t cheat. I don’t even play players out of their position. Explain this.

OMG, dude! Go look at the proposal thread. I'm pointing out the fairness of how some GM's could fill the entire ST Rusher Line, IF they wanted to. I'm not pointing fingers at ANYONE. Simply presenting facts for why it is unfair to use the punt block. Some teams are incapable of defending against it.

I totally understand your point Crazy. I don't understand the algorithm though... I admit, up until this point I've played my CB Osborn in the spot that's most likely to block the punt (Which is the RDE or DT position on punt blocks). CB Osborn has 95 speed along with 79 acceleration but this season we've had 0 punt blocks. Atlanta has had 3 against me with 2 being from Frank Lacy 88 speed and 1 from Jose Evans 92 speed. Tampa Bay seems to be doing well with punt blocks from guys without 90+ speed as well from WR Anthony Smith(73 speed and 51 acceleration). Pittsburgh also has under 90-speed players blocking punts such as Demetrius Frazee (89 speed)... I will admit it was a bit crazy when they had the 7 punt block game against Cleveland where Cesar Reagan (93 speed and 71 acceleration) had all 7 THEN followed it up with a 10 punt blocks in a game against Cinncinatti.... By my estimations he's probably had over 30 punt blocks this season alone... but I still don't get the game logic... How does a 95 speed, 71 acceleration CB have 0 punt blocks on the season where a 73 speed WR has at least 5?

This post isn't to say I'm for OR against the punt blocking. Simply stating that the logic in punt blocks are more confusing than just throwing in straight 90 speed CB's/WR's. I definitely understand your point, WR's and CB's shouldn't be exploited to block punts... Sure, a punt blocked here or there is fine but, Pittsburgh's 17 punt blocks within a 2-week span are kind of outrageous. I do understand marinarul10's point too though. It's available to everyone and players absolutely don't have to have 90 speed to be able to block punts, for example, Tampa Bay's WR Anthony Smith (73 speed/51 acceleration).

I'm sure ST experience plays a part. The blocking ability of the OL plays a part. The speed of the OL plays a part. The Acceleration of the OL plays a part. The Long Snap skill plays a part. The Punt Timing plays a part.

I don't know the algorithm for it. I just know it shouldn't be happening with guys that are almost half the weight of the guys blocking them.

My thing is I get 0 blocked punts against Cincinnati week 4 with a 95 speed CB but Pittsburgh the very next week gets 10 blocked punts against the same Cincinnati squad the very next week with a 93 speed CB? I'm 100% sure Osborn's experience on special teams was maxed out at the time as well. Along with the fact that there are examples of slower WR/CB's getting punts blocked clearly shows that you absolutely don't have to have a 90 speed player in that slot. Does WR/CB belong in that position? Na, probably not. Can everyone do it? It's very much possible.

What position are you putting him in? He should be in the RDE (ST Rusher #3 on your depth chart) spot. That seems to be the most successful position. I've heard that the Wing position to his right (Gunner #5 on your depth chart) has some success, too.

I can't tell you anymore. I quit using it. Smirt211 might be able to shed some light on it. He's been the most successful at it.
