Rule Change Passed and starts 1979.

Team owners must always have at least 1 first round pick showing on your future draft picks page.

I would like to propose a serious discussion on the clarity, phrasing, and changing of this rule. I have a major issue with forcing a GM to have a 1st Rd draft pick in one of two seasons for a period of 4 days. Especially when those 4 days are during a draft & trading is most active during that period of time.

I can completely agree with having a 1st Rd draft pick in one of three seasons before & after the draft. That 4 day window is too small to be affecting trading the way it just did.

I agree CR. I think the rule needs amended to say it does not apply while a draft is in process.

I’m for removing the 1st rd pick requirement and increasing the trade committee to 5 owners. Paydirt is touted as a veteran league. Leave it up to the committee for unfair trades and let those trade happy owners enjoy it.

Who is going to be in charge of keeping track this?

Obviously, somebody noticed this trade broke the rule. I'm pretty sure we police ourselves. If there's an issue, it can be brought up just like any other trade issue.

I think lifting the trade restriction during the draft, and only during the draft is a great idea.

I want to discuss a problem I had when I tried to change my Head Coach this last offseason:

A lot of teams re-sign their Coordinators/Postional Coaches the 1st week of FA so other owners are unable to offer them a contract, even if it's a better gig/more money. I feel like this is unfair for teams that want to change their coaching staff.

I know it sucks to lose a coach but doesn't make sense that team re-sign their own coaches to the same position if they're not in their last year of contract. I'd like to hear other owner's opinions.

Interesting.........

Are you proposing that the only position that can be re-signed would be the Head Coach?

If this is what your discussing, the way the game processes the FA turns could we see that a lot of teams without coaches at the end of early FA?

We could develop our own "Coaches Market" type deal where we could determine who gets what coaches before Early FA begins as one thought.
