GG Redskins. Beercloud, I don't know what happened with your punt blockers but you have to fix it. I got 6 punts blocked lol.

Not only that, but I picked up a Punter that this team has needed and missed putting him in the lineup before the spin. I'll get it straightened out before next game. Haven't even got a chance to look at the other aspects of special teams. Heck this team only has 3 healthy offensive linemen atm. :) This temporary GM better get to work.

The Paydirt Report: Week 7

One hellva game took place in the Silverdome that resulted in the narrowing of our undefeated teams down to Seattle. The Battle Royale game lived up to its name for the second week in a row as Dallas defeated Detroit 37-33 on a 75 yd strike from QB Jonathan Robinson to WR Albert Nelson who beat CB Josh Norman with 1:14 left to go in the game. On the next play from scrimmage the Cowboys veteran CB Floyd Gunter picked off QB Vincent Moses to seal the game. Paydirt's last team standing the Seattle Seahawks narrowly escaped an upset bid by divisional foe Los Angeles Rams. I have a feeling this could end up being a pretty fierce rivalry in the future. Now let get to the rest of Paydirt.

AFC
West
The Mild Mild West is a knotted up mess. But very entertaining none the less. Oakland(3-4) was the only team to win in week 7 as they squeezed by Denver(3-4) 31-26. San Diego(4-3) and Kansas City(4-3) both go down in defeat by managed to remain tied on top of the division.

East
The Beast in the East Miami(6-1) and Buffalo(5-2) both won to keep the chase at full speed. The Ny Jets(3-4) might have found a lil something as they win their 3rd straight with a victory of the NY Giants in the Apple Bowl. We will see for sure when the Dolphins come to Shea Stadium. New England(1-6) hopes have fallen into the harbor with all their tea.

North
Cincinnati(5-2) and Cleveland(4-3) both came out on top this week as they battle for the division lead. Pittsburgh(2-5) wins their 2nd in a row as Baltimore(1-6) can't get off the ground.

South
Houston(5-2) is upset by Minnesota but both Indianapolis(3-4) and Jacksonville(3-4) can't take advantage as they both lose. Tennessee(2-5) on the other hand took advantage but still has a ways to go.

NFC
East
Dallas(6-1) increased their lead in the East with a thrilling win over Detroit and a loss by NY Giants(4-3). Philadelphia(3-4) wins their 2nd consecutive as they have their sights on a playoff spot 9 games from now. Washington(0-7) is the only team without a win but interim GM swears they will get one before the season is done.

West
Seattle(7-0) survives a scare from Los Angeles(1-6) to continue their march to Super Bowl XII. Arizona(2-5) and San Francisco(2-5) are running out of time to make a run.

North
With Detroit's(6-1) loss Green Bay(5-2) wastes little time in closing the gap in the North. Chicago(3-4) misses an opportunity to gain a game on the Lions and they are dancing in the streets of Minnesota(1-6) as they get one in the win column.

South
In the Super South Atlanta(6-1) continues to reign supreme as they handled Tampa Bay(4-3) 27-13. Carolina(5-2) kept pace with the Falcons with a shutout of KC and New Orleans(2-5) has come alive as they may have figured something out.

Game to Watch: Week 8
Houston @ Cleveland
Buffalo @ Dallas
Miami @ NY Jets
San Diego @ Kansas City

Yeah I guess when Seattle jinxed me with a loss, I passed it on to you! Sorry, but great comeback by the Detroit Lions wouldn’t you say?

GG OffensiveTaco. I turned it off in the 1st quarter after the INT with you already ahead 14-0. Funny that it ended up being close.

GG jmvda/Minesota close entertaining game, good luck for the rest of the season

We really need to with Mullens, he`s looking too much at the cheerleaders and he`s throwing pick after pick.... our rivals start winning game after game so we really need him for the next 3 division games ....

The Paydirt Report: Week 8

We've reached the halfway mark of 1981. Miami and Cincinnati look like the teams to beat in the AFC thus far. The NFC looks like a Seattle freight train that everyone else is trying to hold onto. That being said, Dallas, Detroit and Atlanta are teams that could knock em off. Seattle doesn't have any easy second half of the season as they play Cleveland, Carolina, Atlanta and Green Bay. All 4 of those teams will challenge the Seahawks domination.

The AFC is a little more muddled. Miami continues to roll and Cincinnati's uprising has caught Cleveland a little off guard. The rest of the conference is pretty well balanced. The West and South are up for grabs by all 8 teams at the midway point. Now lets see Paydirt's divisional races.

AFC
West
The Mild Mild West has been a back and forth battle. But who will rise to the top in the second half and take the crown? San Diego(5-3) has taken the first step in that direction by defeating Kansas City(4-4) in a crucial divisional game. Denver(3-5) and Oakland(3-5) both lose and drop to 2 games back. But all 4 teams are well in contention and could take the division.

East
Miami(7-1) wins their 5th in a row and gets a lil help from Dallas who defeated Buffalo(5-3) in Paydirt's Game of the Week. NY Jets(3-5) three game win streak was snapped by the Dolphins. New England(1-7) can now start planning for the off-season barring a miracle.

North
Cincinnati(6-2) continues to knock down the wins to stay just ahead of Cleveland(5-3) who keeps the pressure on with 2nd win in a row. Baltimore(2-6) who won this week and Pittsburgh(2-6) who lost this week are held up in the cellar.

South
Houston(5-3) goes down for the 2nd week in a row and this time both Jacksonville(4-4) and Indianapolis(4-4) take full advantage and close up within a game of the AFC South lead. Tennessee(3-5) loses an exciting game against the Jaguars that prevent them from taking advantage of their own.

NFC
East
Dallas(7-1) knocked down their 2nd tough opponent in a row with their win over Buffalo. NY Giants(4-4) takes a tough loss and Philadelphia(4-4) wins 3rd in a row to jump into the Wild Card talk for the time being. They will play Dallas twice in the next two weeks. If they sweep they have a chance at stealing the division away from the Cowboys. Washington(0-8) is still searching for that elusive first win.

West
Seattle(8-0) is on a mission to try and capture their 4th blackflys trophy. They finished the first half of the season unscathed. San Francisco(2-6), Arizona(2-6) and Los Angeles(1-7) are having rough seasons and are already getting their wars rooms ready.

North
Detroit(7-1) defeated the NY Giants to bounce back into the win column as Green Bay(6-2) stays hot on their tail with their 3rd straight win. Chicago(3-5) has fallen off and Minnesota(1-7) couldn't duplicate their upset win from last week.

South
The surprising Atlanta Falcons(7-1) continues to roll and finish off the first half of the 1981 season on top of the Super South. They hold a 1 game lead over Carolina(6-2) who won again this week. The Panthers and the Falcons will meet in two weeks which will be a huge game for the South. Tampa Bay(5-3) is keeps hanging around and New Orleans(3-5) has found their groove by winning their 3rd in a row.

Game to Watch: Week 9
Dallas @ Philadelphia
Seattle @ Cleveland
Jacksonville @ Houston
Tampa Bay @ Green Bay
Detroit @ Indianapolis

GG Seattle. Man my team is god awful, we will be lucky to get 5 wins this season. The good news is we will have our first first round pick in 4-5 seasons. I'm really paying the price for those big trade moves a few seasons ago, but we did get Arizona their first playoff birth so I guess it was worth it?
