The Paydirt Report
MM Beat Edition: Week 15
by Meatmen

Hey there sport’s fans. I first need to give thanks to technically gifted folks who can fix the messes that technically challenged people (like me) get into. With my laptop fixed and i am now on windows 10. Hopefully my problems are behind me. Let's get into what happened in week 15, shall we?

AFC
Denver (10-5) owns the division crown. At this point, owns the second bye week despite the overtime loss to the the salty Texans 27-24. KC (9-6) clinched a playoff berth. The Chiefs line up against Miami (8-7) in a must win game for the fish. The Bills (7-7-1) barring **** freezing over at 3 rivers VS the Steelers should win this week. If Miami loses they stay home. $b$dog$ better be on the ball as the Steelers took advantage of the Jets 34-15 to act as spoiler. WHAT THE WHAT? two weeks in a row?

The Ravens have undisputed home field advantage and the Texans grab their 5th division title in a row under Salty watermelon. Honorable mention goes out to the Jags and Colts who made it an interesting race.

NFC
The Cowboys (12-3) clinch the division and enter week 16 riding a 9 game win streak. The Skins (8-7) got their “E”, but can take heart that they finished with their best record since 1978 and the future looks bright in the nation's capital.

The NFC WEST was an entirely different story just 6 short weeks ago. Riding a 7 game win streak the Rams have taken control from Seattle and knocked St Louis (8-7) out of contention. LA (10-5) gets The Titans (2-13) at home and Seattle (10-5) travels to Green Bay (4-11) for games they both should win easily.

The Lions pretty much owned thier division all season long. The Bears Rookie GM Damion may yet have a winning season in Chicago for the first time since 1973.

Carolina (14-1) won #14 in a row and has home-field advantage and Tampa despite leading all season has the 5th seed as of now. I’m betting that the Bucs and Panthers will have to face off one more time this season. Atlanta has to come up big against the Bucs in a MUST win or face being eliminated as their competition for the WC spot draw much easier games.

There it is week 15 “in a Nutshell” Good luck to all the teams that are still in the mix. I was thinking that with the Paydirt report getting shorter as teams drop out I would supplement it with some different “activities”.

This week's activity, interviews with the 7 GM’s that left their long term teams for a new challenge? Greener Pastures? let's find out what they had to say.

Offensive Taco/IMinnesota Vikings (3-12) former team Dallas Cowboys 9 seasons:
MM: What Inspired you to change? Was it a difficult decision to leave your successful team for an unknown?
OT: It was extremely painful to leave Dallas, the same way Jerry Jones had to fire Tom Landry, I felt that America’s team needed a new direction, I had sadly worn out my welcome there in terms of leader ship and the direction the team was headed! Hopefully they found their man to lead them to the promised land, it’s for the fans and the franchise that the decision was made!

MM: Had you been thinking about a move? I know I have, I am loyal to the Chiefs but, there were some really great teams, possibly mismanaged out there HUH?
OT: I was never thinking about a move, it just happened so suddenly, and since I love to rebuild a team, I figured Minnesota was the second best choice to set camp! Considering they’ve never won the division in a very competitive NFC North, but now that grandadB unexpectedly left the league, it’s really up for grabs next season I think. My first choice to set camp was the Baltimore ravens .

MM: Who do you pick for the Super bowl '82
OT: I think there’s a lot of pop and sizzle in this year‘s playoffs to come! But I think it’s going to come down to Denver versus Baltimore for the AFC, and Tampa Bay versus Carolina for the NFC. And I believe the Baltimore ravens will defeat the Carolina Panthers in this year Super Bowl

50051139/Miami Dolphins (8-7) former team Tennessee Titans 6 seasons
MM: Had you been thinking about a move? I know I have, I am loyal to the Chiefs but, there were some really great teams, possibly mismanaged out there HUH?
500: knew it was time for me to move on from the Titans. While i didnt want to leave them at the time my knowledge of the game was way to low to compete in Paydirt. The Titans needed someone who understood the mechanics more. The AFC South is arguably the most cursed division in the league with some of the most prominent GMs failing to find consistency. In my one year absence from the league i found a system that works and have talked to several different GMs on how to improve.

MM:Who do you pick for the Super bowl '82
500: As for my superbowl lineup i see it being the Panthers Vs Ravens with the panthers winning 34-10.

Blackfly’s/New York Jets (7-8) former team Washington Redskins 12 seasons. Namesake of the super bowl trophy.
MM; I take it you got bored with the Redskins.....What led you to the Jets?
BF: My time with the Redskins ended in such bad shape due to lack of time and I do regret not fulfilling my goal in DC and that was winning a lot more games .

MM: Had you been thinking about a move? I know I have, I am loyal to the Chiefs but, there were some really great teams, possibly mismanaged out there HUH?
BF: The Jets job became available along with the Patriots. I chose the Jets because I felt their was room to build at a faster pace. That could be a preference really because both teams were in bad shape.

MM: Who do you pick for the Super bowl '82
BF: This year's super bowl will be between two nfc teams I think are among the top and that's either the Panthers or the Packers. * this its the quote I recieved…there may have been a mix up….Blackfly’s can correct it if he wishes.

Androwski/Washington Redskins former team Miami Dolphins 9 seasons.
MM: What inspired you to change? Was it a difficult decision to leave your successful team for an unknown?

SKI: Having the same roster for 7 seasons becomes boring no matter what. Moreover, I started losing more games than usual, and I struggled to adapt my roster to the 4.5 version. I started to spend less time game planning so I needed a fresh new start where I could rebuild a team from the ground. So for me, no, it wasn't a difficult decision.

MM: Had you been thinking about a move? I know I have, I am loyal to the Chiefs but, there were some really great teams, possibly mismanaged out there HUH?

SKI I want to stay with the Redskins for a few more seasons before thinking about another move. About the last part, when the Playoffs come, you see the same owners every season at the top so...

I encourage everyone that if you're losing interest in MFN, changing teams will make you addict again.

MM: Who do you pick for the Super bowl '82

SKI:From the AFC, I pick the Baltimore Ravens. Shout-out to awest827, making the PO in his first season with that roster is very impressive. He should win GM Of The Year imo.
And from the NFC, I pick the Carolina Panthers. To win everything I'll go with the Ravens.

Awest/Baltimore Ravens (13-2) former team Seattle Seahawks 12 seasons.
MM: What inspired you to the change?
AW:There were several factors that went into switching teams. The main reason why I left was because I had no competition in my division. For several seasons everybody already knew that Seattle was going to win the division before the season even started. It was just too easy until I got to the playoffs. I wanted there to be some more balance in the league. When you look at a team like Baltimore or Pittsburgh it seems like those franchises just haven't been good for the league. So I wanted to get one of them into the playoffs and see if I can turn the franchise around. Although it was too easy to win my division I also knew that the conference now belonged to Carolina. I knew that even with the roster I put together which is as good as I could hope to do. I can't match up man for man with Carolina in the NFC who seems to have a top 5 pick at every position.

MM: Was it a difficult decisions to leave your successful team for an unknown?
AW: I hated to leave Seattle which I had been with since the league started. I have done some great things with that team. I know the team wasn't getting any younger so I hate to leave somebody with an old team but I also know that with the right management the team can still be great. But if the wrong GM were to take over I would hate to see the team take a turn for the worse.

Had you been thinking about a move? I know I have, I am loyal to the Chiefs but, there were some really great teams, possibly mismanaged out there HUH?
AW: I was never even considering a move until I heard Androwski was going to switch and then I thought I could do that too. Every team out there could be great if managed correctly. I have 12 players that were with Baltimore last season. The team did not look good at all so I got rid of everybody. Last season the team was 4-12, they didn't have good players or a good game plan. This season I've already clinched the 1st seed in the AFC. The team doesn't have to look great when the new owner takes over. It just has to be managed correctly.

MM; Who do you pick for the Super bowl '82?
AW: I think I'm supposed to say Baltimore but Carolina is the clear favorite. What drove you to the change?

Coach Simpson/Philadelphia Eagles (3-12) /via Green Bay Packers former teams Phila. 74, NE 1978-80.

Coach Simpson released this statement:
I had Patriots prior to GB. I had good fun rebuilding the patties, but real life came knocking and I had to cut back on playing time. So I handed the Patriots over to Beercloud for replacements.
I got back and had GB because it was open - however, the former GM had pillaged the team prior to leaving, so I wouldn't exactly call it a succesful team - and it will take the new GM Mathan a good patience to rebuild.
I was contacted by the new GM in GB if he could take over the team - I think he has a Green Bay thing, and as I saw that Phillies were missing out, I asked Beercloud if we could do the switch - which he sanctioned.
I'm not back in Philly for love, but because it was missing out - could have been any team really.

Congrats on RL superbowl win - Mahomes is so awesome.....and Andy Reid is long time overdue a bowl win.It was a bit difficult to leave Minnesota, some many years there... at the end of the day not good years, no winning record not a single year.Ultimately was the best decision to part ways.

My Superbowl 82 pick is two great teams, Baltimore and Carolina.

GG 500/Dolphins we are not deserving of a playoff spot to begin with BUT last week we had clinched a playoff berth only to get the "E" in week 16? **** "Big Deal" Davis played so bad they could hear him sucking in Carolina and Green Bay. This is no rumor. Young Charles woods is the QB of the future in KC and it's about time he gets his shot. It's me or coach Graham! I have a lot of respect for the man and his accomplishments. We need some forward .thinking and a fresh approach ................................MM

GG awest and the Ravens. Close game. I missed a 44 FG in the 4th that would have put me up 26-34. You then drove for your TD which put you up 32-31 after the missed conversion. Then I had to go for it on 4th and drop it, and leave you a chip FG to go up 35-31. Would love to have seen what would have happened if I made that FG. Another good game by both teams. GL in the playoffs! I hope to see you again this season!

GG TB! Good luck in the PO!

I was lazy this season with the gameplanning and it cost me big time.... still only 2 loses outside the division all season should be a good thing, right? Looking forward to next season!

I would be perfectly fine not playing you again this season. I got my revenge for my early season loss.

Lol I'm shocked how things turned out with Bills going 0-1-1 to finish the season and with us playing our best ball now. But now comes the greatest hill yet for me in MFN and that's a playoff win. I'm 0-8 across the entire MFN "universe" this is the year I feel that could end

Lol. My back ups dropped 52 pts on the Patriots to end the season. WR amasses 380 yds and 6 TDs. Back up QB goes for 7 TDs no Ints. Good game New England.

I guess I dropped a few spots in the Draft but I'm happy to finish the season with a win.

Good luck to every team in the Playoffs!
