Looks like you have to be dame good in the AFC to even make the playoffs

Or knock off Cleveland! ;-) (Easier said than done.)

Good job making the playoffs this season.

The Bengals already smoked us once so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again if they get a shot. So I will be rooting for the Dolphins. ;-)

Congrats, Wolveraider/Oakland! Beating the Chiefs twice in one season is a remarkable feat.

Thank you...I think I'm 3-7 against the Chiefs now....it's always a tough battle in the wild west....double digit wins and you can still end up in third place and eliminated from the playoffs...outside of the first year when the Raiders went 8-8, third place looks like this in the AFC West...

Third place and eliminated from the playoffs.

1974 Chiefs 11-5
1973 Chargers 10-6
1972 Raiders 11-5
1971 Raiders 10-6

This is a cool stat, part of the reason for the high wins in this division is the lack of competition from the Denver franchise. Denver is 1-29 in 5 seasons against the division. That equals 2 wins per team, per season. New ownership hopes to correct that going forward. :)

True enough, but during the last four seasons, the total won-loss record for the 3rd place teams was 42-22. Subtract win and loses (4-12) when Oakland, KC and SD played each other and their combined records against the rest of the league (including Denver) as 3rd place teams was 38-10. Even taking away their combined wins and losses (7-1) against Denver during that time and their combined records against the rest of the league was 31-9 as third place teams. Not too shabby.
