Paydirt Report: Week 9Sorry for missing week 8 but it's gonna be a hectic next few of RL weeks for me. But I'll try to keep em coming.
Atlanta's rookie GM hit the film room hard and it paid off with an upset over the undefeated Detroit Lions 31-24. Detroit tried coming back from 21 down just past the midway point in the 4th quarter but feel short with it coming down to an onside kick. There's lots to talk about with the division races so lets get to it.
Week 8 Recap
AFCWest
San Diego(7-2) takes charge of the Wild West with their 2nd consecutive win. Denver(6-3) losses to division foe Kansas City(5-4) dropping them to 2nd place. It was their 2nd straight loss and their last 3 out of 4 after a fast start. Oakland(6-3) won their 4th straight to grab a share of 2nd place with the Broncos.
East
New England(6-3) continues to lead the East race with a stunning blowout of the stumbling Cleveland Browns. Miami(5-4) keeps pace with a big win over NY Jets(4-5). Buffalo(2-7) has fallen out of contention.
North
With Cleveland's(6-3) 3rd straight loss, Cincinnati(6-3) remains tied at the top with the Browns for the division crown. But don't give one of those two teams the crown just yet. Because lurking there in the 3rd spot is the Baltimore Ravens(5-4) lead by rookie GM amalric7 who just won their 2nd straight. After a quick start and then a lil stumble the Ravens find themselves right back in it. Pittsburgh(3-6) is hanging a lil farther back with their 3rd win.
South
Tennessee(7-2) has taken control of the AFC South and is looking to capture he Titans first ever division title. Jacksonville(5-4) has fallen 2 games back with their 2nd loss in a row. Indianapolis(3-6) and Houston(2-7) barring a miracle, are out of the race and looking to play spoiler.
NFCEast
Yes I'm gonna say this out loud..........Everyone in the NFC East won this week. There I said it. Washington(4-5), Philadelphia(4-5) and Dallas(4-5) with their 2nd straight win, all sit atop of the East tied for the lead. Even the lowly NY Giants(2-7) surprised NFC West leading Arizona this week. Go figure.
West
Arizona(6-3) gets upset but still maintains the lead in the West as Seattle(5-4) shockingly losses their 3rd in a row. Los Angeles(5-4) under recently hired GM greyghost1225 has jumped into the race tied for 2nd with the Seahawks. The Rams are 4-1 since the hiring of greyghost1225 including their last 4 in a row. San Francisco(1-8) is going through the motions at this point.
North
The Lions(8-1) lose their first game of the year and they are rioting in Detroit because of it. There's no need to panic just yet but Green Bay(6-3) just won their 5th straight on their march back towards the front. Chicago(3-6) and Minnesota(2-7) both go down this week.
South
Tampa Bay(7-2) wins their 4th in a row and are starting to run away with the division. Carolina(4-5) started to make a push but had a set back this week. Atlanta(4-5) is the talk of the league with their upset over Detroit. We'll see if they are able to continue bouncing back. New Orleans(1-8) on the other hand.....Their struggles continue.
