The Paydirt Report
MM Beat Edition: Week 6
by Meatmen
Welcome to my first ever Paydirt Report. It is a work in progress and Every couple of weeks I will attempt to do something a bit different to keep this report fresh. I am late posting this week so I will stick to the basics.
Seatle and Tampa Bay remain the lone undefeated teams as Indy takes a loss in Denver at the hands of the surprising Bronco's who were picked to finish last in the AFC East.
AFC WESTDenver got 2 rushing Td's from Oren and Mark pool threw for 321yds to beat an undefeated Colt's team that couldn't seem to get their offense going. The Chiefs (3-3) pulled away from the Chargers early and SD failed to score a TD mustering only 4 FG's. The Raiders lost to Green bay in overtime to fall into a tie (2-4) for the division basement. It's early yet and this division has a reputation for wild finishes.
AFC EASTConference Champ Buffalo seems to be righting the ship with their second win In a row. A 3-1 divisional record is a huge plus towards a division repeat.
Buffalo traded blows with Miami It would be a KO return for 106 yds. with 1:13 left in the 2Q and a TD with 1:38 left in the 4Q followed by an Erik Fiorini interception to put the nails in The dolphin's coffin. The Jets (2-4) trounced the Patriots (1-5) 44-25.
AFC NORTHawest seems to have brought his magic over from the seahawks as the turn around of the season has got to be the Ravens. At 5-1 this team has never finished with a winning record and they are not winning by a few points. This week the Cowboys fell to the Ravens 45-10 as QB Larry Walker threw for 5 TDs and 396 yards. and the Cowboys never got the ball moving. The Browns (2-4) won a close one over the Bengals (2-4) with 2 4Q FG's. The Steelers took a loss to the redskins to drop them to (1-5).
AFC SOUTHThe Colts fell to (5-1) with a loss to the Bronco's in Denver but still maintain a 2 game lead over the Jags. Jacksonville (3-3) scored 19 unanswered points to beat the last place Titans (1-5) and move into a sole second-place spot. While The Texans (2-4) took a tough loss to the Cardinals.
NFC WESTandrowski's Redskins (4-2) take over sole possession of first place with a win over Pittsburgh and the Cowboys go down big time to Baltimore. The Giants (2-4) get a much-needed win 29-0 over the leaderless Eagles.
NFC EASTSeattle (6-0) continues its dominance of this division as jmdva has retained the magic that the Seahawks have displayed over the past several seasons. Arizona (3-3) takes over second place as the Rams continue to struggle through the second season of a nightmarish rebuild at (2-4). San Fransisco (1-5) has settled into their comfort zone.
NFC NORTHDetriot (5-1) took it to the Hapless 49ers 43-0 as Vincent Moses threw for 495 yards and 2 TDs and Andrew Hobbs had over 300 total yards and 2 TDs to power the Lions offense.
Chicago (3-3) lost a heartbreaker on a John Sullivan pass with:49 seconds left to give Seattle the victory and remain undefeated. The packers (2-4) have won their last 2 with new GM coachsimpson at the helm. Looks like the Vikings (0-6) are making plans for next season.
NFC SOUTHTampa (6-0) continues to outpace the division with a win over Minnesota. Carolina (5-1) is hot on their heels and has a better division record with a showdown coming in Tampa (WK 14). The Falcons (4-2) and Saints (3-3) are far from out of this race. If any division can put 3 teams in the postseason it's this one.
Well there we are sports fans my first attempt. I will have my future reports out in a much timelier manner. Until then that's The the meat of the matter!......................................................MM
