Re: Rules Debate

Does anyone think it would be beneficial to the community for trades to be restricted only to mid-weeks during the pre-season and regular season?

For a team acquiring a player, there is no benefit to doing a trade on game day because the player acquired cannot be activated and incorporated into the game plan.

However, for the team trading the players, they lose the services the player traded for the upcoming game but run the risk that the trade will be voided and the traded player returned.

Just a thought.

the conversation is bringing a realistic feel to the game and though it benefits the team trading the player the way it currently is handled is realistic it takes time for a trade to go through and in the nfl when players are traded they usually dont suit up and are impactful for that first game especially close to a gameday any how plus it limits people to have to make moves on days they may not have the time to do it on

I believe it should still be at that mark.

I see that now, different than other leagues I’ve been in. Thanks for correcting me!

The last minute trade before a game is played is another (AND BIG) reason to restrict trades to midweek. GMs don't have an opportunity to review and consider the fairness of a trade made just before a game.

Then move the trade deadline up leave week 8 to review only restricting to midweeks isn't anymore fair especially to ppl such as myself and others who may only have time to do trades and game planning on game days

What about being fair to everyone else and being true to the spirit of the game - which is to do only fair trades? I'm not saying that the last trades done before the deadline were unfair. Only that the community had little to no time to review it. Not to mention communicating with Beercloud and then allowing sufficient time to seek input (votes).

I wonder how many people can check messages to review trades or make or respond to trade offers only on game day. Not many I expect. Here we are at mid-week and yet you have time to check on and respond to this thread - but you wouldn't have time to tender or respond to trade offers or check trades?

this still feels unnecessary i mean your talking about handling trades from the final trade week why make a rule to affect the other 7 weeks just because there was one controversial trade that possibly may never happen again.

If having time to review the trade at the deadline is an issue, then pause the league for one day and freeze trades at a specific time and give people 24 hours to review them.

Another great option or if a specific trade in week 8 is up for a review then pause
