Great idea. We are about 5 seasons out or so to when this can become a thing.

That being said its prolly a good time to open discussions on guidlines. Such as player elgability and min. requirements. Who nominates these players and who votes them in. And time of season these things get done.

So fire away.....

Min requirements i would say at least 8-10 seasons played , 1x Super Bowl champ and/or at least 2-3 super bowl appearances. 100 + games played and of course stats , you can add more to requirements to that but that’s what I have off the bat

Each teams owner vote for the players that meet the requirement that they think deserve to be a hall of famer , if the player has enough votes in favor , it is pass to the committee and they would decide if the player is Hall or game worthy or not.

It would be fun if it is done every 3-5 years the week before the Super Bowl.

Now what if the player played for 3-5 different teams ? Then you pick the team he played the most games with or the team he got his Super Bowl with or had the most success. I also think they should have a winning record not matter what as a requirement , because it would be kinda trashy to have a hall of famer full of players who lost more games than they won.

How about a selection Committee (voted in by all GM’s) comprised of say 5 gm’s, decide amongst themselves what candidates(say 4-8 players) are eligible for selection vote(every season or otherwise).
And once those X amount of players are selected for vote, all GM’s vote!
Say something like each candidate would need 70% of vote to be enshrined

So if the selection committee released their list of candidates at seasons end or otherwise, all GM’s would vote on each number of candidates.

As far as electing a Hall of Fame Committee:
An idea could be that we use the two conference reps and the PR Director as part of the 5 man committee and then elect 2 more GM's from outside the CC. And put those two in charge of the committee. ie schedule the voting, sending out pm's to other committee members, doing the stats research for eligibility etc...

Once the Hall of Fame committee is in place, they can come up with eligibility requirements choices for the league to vote on. Plus decide on calender dates such as, when the board meets each year, when they vote on nominees, when the league votes on em etc...

I'm all for it if we can find volunteers.

We should prolly button up a proposal on the Hall of Fame Committee. As the window of eligible candidates could be opening soon.

OffensiveTaco would you like to take the lead?

That’s great news beercloud!
As far as taking the lead goes, I’m all for it except I wouldn’t know how to approach it LOL, I’ve never been much of a leader before.
I am more of an idealist who observes.

k I'll put it together then and propose it in the proposal section.

Thanks for the idea.

I guess that’s what your league does to serious minded general managers! It brings out the best in us since you make that all possible as to how you run this league!
Whether this idea flies or not I’m sure I will think of other ideas along the way

Open Teams and Existing GM's

jourameng pm'd me asking if he could take over a team that needs help as he likes the rebuilding process. It reminded me of an idea that I've been kicking around for the last few seasons.

Giving existing GM's the opportunity of applying for open GM jobs in the off-season. Priority would go something like: waiting list, super bowl champs, super bowl loser, conference loser highest on the power rankings etc..... And existing GM's would only be able to apply to teams open in the off-season.

Give me your guys thoughts on this.
