I apologize, it wasn't WR Brad Smith who blocked the second punt. It was TE Trey Burton... Who was lined up on the defensive line.

The 3rd block was indeed by WR James Casey... Who was lined up as a front four-player on special teams.

It breaks down simply to swarm vs. swarm or swarm vs. a non-threat (someone not doing it)

....and since it's nearly outlawed....the only way to game plan against the punt block is to deep think on how to avoid your punting or delaying your having to punt while flipping the pressure on the opposition to be the first to punt or be placed into that position.

Beyond that, there's nothing you can do but pray. You can set up the best possible pass block situation but if the punt block hits on the change of Quarters or around the 2 minute warning or in the midst of time out calls...you're getting blocked.

See, that's where 90% of the arguments in MFN come from. Do you have MFN replicate actual football or do you have MFN as a stand-alone simulation? Everyone has their own opinions on this and it's created a division amongst owners in MFN.

I'm NOT for allowing punt blocks, I think it's an awful exploit and a shame when it's the reason teams lose games. I'm simply trying to point out their side of the argument in that yes, in the NFL WR/TE/DB/LB do play on the line during punt blocks.

Those owners are proponents of making MFN a realistic, NFL-like, sim whereas the rest just want MFN, while mimicking NFL qualities, to be it's stand alone thing.

You can’t make a sim mirror real football. To many in game adjustments in real football but I’m done trying to explain it. Apples and oranges.

When I saw your post I decided to look it up. So I watched a bunch of punt blocks and every single one of them was a bunch of DB WRs and LBs.

Lmfao

They are not on the LOS. They're coming from the outside!

Watch a little more closely pre-snap. :P

but the fact is they are still involved in the play based on how the proposal was written it would remove them from the play all together thats my point about it. i agree they shouldnt be on the LOS

overall there has to be a way to keep those who feel MFN can not replicate real football and those who think it should happy, but it seems everyone agrees that the integrity of not cheating the game has to be stopped so now lets move towards a proposal that makes both sides happy personally to me i think it should be left to the auto depth chart when it comes to ST rusher because it seems to me thats the only way to keep it from being overpowered and misused i have used it and have had a realistic 2 kicks blocked in a single season but its just my opinion now how to govern that idk

No it doesn't. They're allowed in the gunner positions. That is the 4 guys that follow the offense (WR's) out to set up blocks. Also, I believe they're still allowed on the wings (the two players on opposite sides of the front four) [Also gunners]. Potentially, those two could still block punts.

I don't understand how you guys think we're trying to keep them out of Special Teams altogether. We're not. I'm not. I just don't want them on the front four. It's not that difficult and you are making it that way.

10. Special teams rushers against punts shall exclude players whose primary positions are CB, FS, SS or WR. Such players may only be used as Gunners in punt return situations.

Any deviation from this rule, as determined by a majority of GMs who vote, shall result in the immediate removal of the offending GM from the Paydirt Football League, who shall also be blocked from rejoining PFL for not less than 30 days thereafter.

Here it is. Plain as day. Still allowed to be a part of the play. Just not as Rushers.

looks pretty simple to me. I am ok with that one. I'd still like to know what constitutes "primary position"?
