Any way to shorten the FA period? 5 weeks seems like an eternity.

I can adjust the number of FA weeks. When you think you have enough support in the rules debate, you can propose the rule in the rules proposal thread. If it passes there it will go to a general vote on week 12 and will last a real life calender week in which all the GM's will have the opportunity to vote. If it passes the rule will be changed no sooner than the following season and possibly later if the rule proposes it to start later.

Keep in mind that the extra couple of days does let me get things done behind the scenes as far as buttoning up the previous season and preparing everything for the next season.

I personally like the laid back style of the league. 5 weeks is ok, but does seem a little long. I have been in leagues with 3 and I wouldn't vote for that. I could go with 4, but understand the behind the scenes stuff, I am also good with status quo.

In my opinion 3 days is just too short of time in my mind to comb through free agency and sign players. With the league as competitive as it is, Free Agency plays a huge part of teams putting a team together that they feel can compete. Yes, I understand that the free agency pool has looked dreadful these past years, but there are always players that are talented enough for multiple teams to bid on. Having it set to 3 days would limit the amount of time allowed by teams to find a back up option if they miss out on their primary targets(Especially when there are players out there that can't make up their mind. Even when you're the only offer on the table.) I even noticed that this year's 1st day of free agency ran on a Saturday night, a night that usually all of MFN has off and it would've left those owners that were unaware with only 2 days left of free agency to fill voids on their roster. That's the primary reason that I voted No to changing FA to 3 days. If it were bumped up to 4 of Free Agency though, I think it'd be long enough to give teams time to go through their targets and also short enough where it didn't necessarily feel like an eternity. A nice compromise to those who can't wait for the draft and those who prefer filling out their teams through FA... and of course giving Beercloud time to work on stuff behind the scenes.

I should have clarified. Anything is better than 5!

I’ll live with whatever. Usually in full/solid owner leagues FA is pretty bleak except for some older players that could help with a 1-2 yr playoff run. Some guys like to sift through FA with a fine tooth comb so I get it. I’d be happy with 4 if 3 seems too little. Or the perfect 5 weeks for norm.

It is to me. If you get outbid on players and want to plug a few positions before the draft it allows you to do that. I appreciate your thoughtful input though.
