thats a good question. The waitlist would be used up before existing gms get a crack at it as they have first priority..

But you bring up the question of how the order of things should go for that next wave of vacated teams. Maybe using a list process or something ?

I like the idea of allowing a GM to take over another team and using the waiting list to backfill the GM's vacancy.

Would the same rules apply on going forward basis only to the moving GM regarding needing to win to stay in the league?

yes. the Hire n Fire rule would remain the same.

Im thinking out loud but i think the waiting list has to have first priority because of the GM approval settings. Or more so new GM's that have already applied for a team. Because if an existing GM claimed a team that they already applied for, I would have to reject their application and hope they would reapply after I pm'd them. In which many might get tired of waiting and grab another league. So I think the only way for this to work would be that the waiting list or new GM's who have applied get first priority.

Another way to handle it is to ask a GM on the waiting list, if any, whether he would prefer to have the team of the GM who wants to take over the team that needs rebuilding. I think we're more likely to attract new GMs to the league if they have an opportunity to take over a team that stands a chance to be competitive immediately - by taking over the incumbent GM's team -as opposed to one that needs rebuilding.

Anyway, I think the situation of a GM wanting to change teams in order to take on the challenge of rebuilding another team will rarely happen. Bless him for doing so.

Heres an idea on existing GMs applying for jobs.
Give me your feedback pros and cons.


I) Only new GMs may apply for jobs between End of Season and week 16.

II) No hiring will be done during the playoffs.

III) Any GM may apply for jobs(open teams only) beginning Wild Card Mid Week and Divisional Round Mid Week.
III.A) Existing and new GMs may apply for as many teams as they wish during this period.
III.B) All apps are to be pm'd to commish in priority list form along with a 3 digit number 000-999.
III.B.1) The "Texas Pick 3" morning lottery will be used to decide teams with more than one app. Closest wins. https://www.txlottery.org/export/sites/lottery/Games/Pick_3/Winning_Numbers/
III.B.2) For tiebreaker "Indiana Pick 3" Evening will be used.

III.B.3) 3rd tiebreaker "New York Pick 3" Midday will be used.

Note: if two or more players send in the same numbers its first come first serve. 2nd GM will have 1 number added to their requested number etc...

IV) GM job applicants will be revealed during the Divisional round stage.

V) GMs will be able to send in a revised priorirty list to include potential job openings from Conference Championship Mid Week til Super Bowl stage.

VI) There will be a one day sim delay before End Season stage to reveal new hirings and one day sim delay after End of Season stage to give everyone a chance to setup their teams FA and Draft strategies.

Do you guys like or dislike the idea of extending the days between the last pre-season game and the first regular game of the season by one day?

Pros:
Gives GM's additional time to wheel n deal to get there roster down to 53.

Cons:
Well makes GM's wait an additional day til opening kickoff.
