I think we all like this game because it bears some semblance to reality although admittedly it is imperfect. I also think that most of us would prefer to play the game in such a way as to maintain and improve its realism with the existing MFN code. Anything that a GM proposes which moves us in that direction I would favor - including jettisoning GMs who exploit imperfections in the MFN code.
I'd like to determine whether the community agrees generally with that sentiment. If so, we could then discuss ways to achieve that goal which is both fair, predictable and transparent. However, I'd like to hear from GMs in the community who think that all's fair in (love and) war and that GMs may do anything permitted to do under the existing MFN code.
If we choose to go that route, then at a minimum, we should have a thread that exposes all such "cheating" methods so that everyone in the community is aware of and can use or try to counter such methods. Otherwise, I think we're back to "punishing" transgressors by, for example, ejecting them from the league - perhaps permanently (as best we can achieve that goal).
Thanks for the input. Hopefully, we'll get through this issue with little rancor and in the spirit of everyone trying to maximize their enjoyment of the game.
